Hello, my name is Karma

Now, you are asking me: who is Karma? Is she an exotic dancer? Well, ladies and gentlemen, this is not about that.  The question is not ’who’ it is ’what’ is karma? You can call it as faith, destiny, bless or curse. It is all karma.

The roots coming from Indian religions like Buddhism, Hinduism and so on. Don’t worry; I am not going to talk about religions here. I’ve never been the brightest colour in the crayon box, especially when it was about learning. I am talking about my version of karma. My simple, quick and funny version of it.

Basically, in one sentence karma is the following:  What goes around comes around. (Before you ask… no it’s not sponsored by Justin Timberlake… and yes, he has a song with this title.) Karma is an attitude, a behaviour. Let’s think about it for a second. Everything depends on how do you react or behave –even the smallest thing. If you are a positive person, open to the world, sharing a smile with everyone, then karma is good to you. Of course, it is not exactly like that. Bad can happen with the best people too. As I told you before everything starts and ends in your mind. In your VIP special playground. It depends on you and how do you solve it or deal with it. Bad things happen in life to us to make everything better later. This is karma. It is not just a definition or a woo-doo thing. Karma is the loop of life, involved with reaction, action and behaviour. You can find it in every detail.

Do you want an example? Alright you get one. Here it goes. Your are learning for an exam. Your stomach shrinks to the size of a golf ball. You can’t eat, you can’t sleep, you can’t even learn anymore. You are in pure stress. Anyway, you fail the exam. You feel like the whole world is against you. You feel like life (karma) is unfair to you. You think you did your best. Learning from this fail, you decide not worry or care about it. So you take it easy. As you became calm, all the knowledge you have collected now make sense. You stop stressing and you pass the exam.

From this example you clearly see that sometimes bad things happen to challenge us. This is how we grow as a person. This is how we become professionals in our workplace and better person in our private life. There is no such a thing as failure. You never fail; you just need more time to be better. Your action, feelings always were and will mirroring your results.

Even in your social relationships. If you are acting rude and arrogant, you can be sure as hell that you will getting back the same attitude from people. You think they are mean with you, but to tell the truth: it is you who needs to change. If you can’t change the situation then change behaviour to it. If you think that everybody is stupid, it doesn’t mean you are smart… it means you are stupid too, because you don’t change. Don’t get me wrong I need to learn way more than my brain actually could handle, but I also know if I don’t change no one would do it instead of me. If I am unable to make myself happy then who could make me happy? That’s right…nobody.

So dear Karma, it is a pleasure to meet you. It is going to be a long journey and it will take for a life time. So, let’s be friends and take with you a book if you get bored.
